George W. Latimer, Judge:

The accused was charged in a single specification with assault upon a basic airman by striking him in the left eye with a sharp instrument, the exact description of the weapon being unknown. The date of the offense was August 23, 1953. He was found guilty by the court, sentenced to be dishonorably discharged from the service, to forfeit all pay and allowances, and to be confined at hard labor for one year.
