OPINION

ELSA ALCALA, Justice.

Appellant, Ashton Joel Carmen, appeals from a judgment convicting him for the murder of his father, Reginald Carmen. See Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 19.02 (Vernon 2003). Appellant pleaded not guilty, was found guilty by the jury, and assessed 50 years in prison by the jury. In his sole issue, appellant contends the trial court erred by denying his request for a jury instruction on self-defense. We conclude the trial court committed harmful error by refusing to instruct the jury on the law of deadly force in defense of person. See Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 9.32 (Vernon…
