The action is for conversion. The complaint alleges that the plaintiffs on or about September 19, 1917, were the owners of and entitled to the possession of 161 steel plates weighing about 157.9 tons; that on or about the 22d of November, 1917, said plates were in cars marked B. R. P. 17214, P. & R. 880730 and B. & O. 148928; that said cars containing the said plates were in the possession of the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company, as common carrier in or about the city of Seattle, State of Washington; that said plates were transferred to cars marked U.
