On March 18, 2008, the Court entered summary judgment in favor of the State in *950these consolidated cases, thereby rejecting the plaintiffs’ claims that Proposal 2&emdash; which amended Michigan’s state constitution by prohibiting affirmative action programs in public education, employment, and contracting&emdash;offended the United States Constitution.
