Before the court is the Government’s First Motion for Continuance, which requests that the court (1) move the trial presently set for June 13, 2017, to a date in October 2017, and (2) exclude the intervening days from the 70-day period in which Defendant James Marvin Reed must receive a trial, pursuant to the Speedy Trial Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 3161-3174.
