Judge SIMPSON.

We are asked whether a military reservist who completes his training and approximately one year of active duty service is a “soldier” under the statute commonly known as the Veterans’ Preference Act 1 (Act). The Court of Common Pleas of Lehigh County (trial court) awarded the reservist veterans’ preference, which entitled him to appointment to an open township patrol officer position. Agreeing an award of veterans’ preference is appropriate, we affirm.
