This case involves issues concerning interpretation and application of the mortmain provision of the Mississippi Constitution, Sec. 270, and the mortmain statute *209enacted pursuant to it. Miss. Code 1942, Sec. 671. These enactments limit the amount and time of bequests or devises by will to charitable, religious, educational or civil institutions, and the period which such institutions may hold a devise of land.
