Plaintiffs appeal as of right a circuit court order granting defendant’s motion for summary disposition. We affirm in part and reverse in part.

Plaintiff Shirlee Michaels became affiliated with defendant Amway Corporation as a distributor in 1969. An Amway distributor’s business grows by sponsoring other "down-line” distributors and thereby establishing a personal distribution network. Michaels sponsored plaintiff Joan Baker and her husband in 1975. The Bakers in turn sponsored Mary and Maurice VanDusen and Mariis and Donald Shamblin.
