Plaintiff U. S. Reduction Co. (“Reduction”), a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Illinois, filed this diversity action against Preussag A. G. Me-tall (“Preussag”), a West German corporation, and its subsidiary Amalgamet, Inc.
