In June, 1909, a certificate of incorporation was executed by three persons as incorporators for the purpose of the conduct of a fruit and produce commission business under the name of “J. H. Seward and Company, Incorporated”. The certificate of incorporation provided for an authorized capital of $50,000.00, of which amount three shares were subscribed for at the first meeting of the incorporators, and subsequently stock was issued for cash subscriptions to the amount of $16,500.00.
