Appellee, Miss Mary McCue, was in the employ of appellant, Dallas Hotel Company, a corporation, as mail clerk. She entered such employment on September 30, 1925, and was discharged on the first day of November, 1927. Appellee filed suit in a district court of Dallas county for damages for the breach of the contract of employment, which was alleged to be for one year from the first day of October, 1927, placing her damages at $85 per month for the time from the first day of November, 1927, to the 31st day of October, of the following year.
