The second section of the act of 1823, in respect to the registration of deeds, enacts, that any deed or conveyance of lands, <^c. lying in this State, which shall be made after its passage, shall be void against a subsequent bona fide purchaser, or mortgagee, for a valuablemonsideration, unless the same shall have been acknowledged, Src., and lodged with the clerk of the county court of the county in which the lands, Sf c. are situated, to be recorded.
