Following a jury trial, the defendant, Dion Wallace, was found guilty of aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle pursuant to section 4 — 103.2(7)(A) of the Illinois Vehicle Code (625 ILCS 5/4— 103.2(7)(A) (West 1998)) and was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.
