In this appeal, we determine the proper method of apportioning permanent partial disability (PPD) benefits between prior and subsequent industrial injuries when the impairment ratings for those injuries were based on different editions of the applicable guide. PPD awards are based on the percentage of whole person impairment as determined by a rating physician, who makes the calculations using the edition of the American Medical Association *865Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (AMA Guides) adopted by the Division of Industrial Relations.
