The action is founded on a promissory note, made by the appellees, of date October 19th, 1874, payable six months thereafter, to the order of appellants, at the Second National Bank of Cincinnati, for the sum of four hundred and twenty-two dollars. The record does not contain the pleas upon which the trial in the court below was had. The bill of exceptions states that, the plaintiffs below having read the note in evidence, the defendants, testifying for themselves, and two other witnesses, gave evidence that the consideration of the note .was the transfer to defendant Betz, by the plaintiffs,…
