Plaintiff, Jamie Snell, appeals the district court's grant of summary judgment in favor of defendant, Progressive Preferred Insurance Company (insurer). We affirm.

I. Background

The parties do not dispute the following facts. In April 2006, plaintiff purchased automobile insurance from insurer. Insurer renewed the policy on or about October 27, 2007 for a six-month period to run through April 27, 2008.
