This appeal arises out of a dental malpractice action filed by ap pellants. Appellants appeal from the trial court’s grant of partial summary judgment to defendants on the issue of punitive damages.

Appellants, husband and wife, filed a verified complaint against Dr. Walter Myers (“Dr. Myers”) and Dr. Abe Shuster (“Dr. Shuster.”) The complaint alleged in relevant part: Dr. Shuster performed dental surgery on Mrs. Henrietta Carter on March 25, 1987, and on March 30, 1987, Mrs. Carter telephoned Dr. Shuster’s office because she was experiencing pain and swelling in the area of the…
