Appellee, J. E. Walsh, owned a 7,000-acre oil and gas lease on what is described throughout the record as the "Wade Ranch," in Jim Wells and Live Oak counties. He employed appellant, T. W. Callahan, to make a certain geological examination and report upon that lease, and to make a well location thereon. For the work appellee agreed to pay appellant $250 in cash "and equivalent of $1,000 in acreage."
