Following an accident with an underin-sured motorist named Nickel Ford, Margaret 'Jordan sued Allstate Insurance Company under her underinsured motorist (UIM) benefits policy. 1 Jordan sought to recover the damages she suffered that were in excess of Ford’s GEICO $25,000.00 policy limits and the $2,500.00 that Allstate had already paid for personal injury protection (PIP).
