The principal issue in this appeal is whether the trial court abused its discretion by excluding the testimony of the defendant’s expert witness as a sanction for defense counsel’s alleged violations of Practice Book § 769.1 The defendant, Adrian Genotti, was convicted of arson in the first degree, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-lll,2 and sentenced to a term of twenty years imprisonment, execution suspended after seven years, and five years probation.
