Appellant was accused by an indictment returned against him by the grand jury of the county of Los Angeles of the crime of murder, alleged to have been committed on July 23, 1929. The person alleged to have been murdered was Jenny Rose Peterson, a married woman living separate from her husband, and of the age of twenty-three years, and the mother of two children, aged three and five, respectively.
