Walter Lamacki (defendant) was charged by information with rape (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 11 — 1), deviate sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 11 — 3) and two counts of armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 33A — 2). On the State’s motion, the two counts of armed violence were dismissed. On February 18, 1982, following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of rape and deviate sexual assault.
