Defendant, Bobby James DuPree, was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12 — 14(a)(1)), and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12 — 4(b)(1)), following a jury trial in Winnebago County.
