VAUGHN, Chief Judge.

The primary issue in this appeal is as follows: In the 27 May 1982 order awarding custody of the minor child to the defendant, are the trial judge’s findings of fact supported by competent evidence such that the award of custody will not be disturbed on appeal? After a careful examination of the evidence as set forth in the record, we are compelled to answer this question in the negative.
