Ralph A. Hartman, while working for appellant, Union Electric Light and Power Company, fell from a transmission line tower at Valmeyer, Illinois, and was killed. Respondents, his widow and dependent children, filed a timely claim before the Missouri Workmen's Compensation Commission, which awarded compensation in the sum of $8,866, payable in installments over a period of 435.8 weeks. Appellants, the employer and its insurer, took an appeal to the Circuit Court of St. Francois County which affirmed the award.
