The plaintiff commenced this action in the superior court for King county, seeking recovery of damages for personal injuries suffered by him as the alleged result of the negligent maintenance of an automatic passenger elevator by the defendant company in its apartment house in Seattle. A trial upon the merits in that court, sitting with a jury, resulted in verdict and judgment awarding recovery against the defendant, from which it has appealed to this court.
