Introduction
The plaintiff, George A. Mayes, brought suit against his union, Local 106, International Union of Operating Engineers, AFL-CIO (“Local 106” or “Union”), and three of its officers, alleging that the defendants discriminated against him in job referrals and denied him certain rights guaranteed under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, 29 U.S.C. § 401 et seq.
