Lysetta Isaacs Raffel, plaintiff, filed a petition in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County for a writ of mandamus directed to the members of the Civil Service Commission and certain other officials of the City of Pittsburgh to compel her reinstatement as a stenographer in the Bureau of Recreation, Department of Public Works, of that municipality. An alternative writ was issued commanding, inter alia, that the Civil Service Commission show cause why it should not vacate its findings sustaining the dismissal of plaintiff.
