CIACCIO, Judge.
On the application of the State, we grant certiorari in order to consider the judgment of the trial court granting defendant’s motion to suppress evidence.
Defendant, Kenneth DeGruy, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1. He was arraigned and plead not guilty. Defendant filed a motion to suppress an AK-47 assault rifle seized following an investigatory stop.
