The primary issue in this case is whether certain property now owned by the plaintiff, Skil Corporation, was exempt from taxation during the years 1954 through i960. The property was acquired by the County of Cook by eminent domain proceedings instituted February 6, 1954, for the purpose of constructing that portion of Edens Expressway lying between Foster and Lawrence Avenues. It was owned by the County until i960, when the County conveyed it to the plaintiff.
