I. ■ The case involves a question of title under patents from the United States for public lands in Illinois. One of such patents was- to John Holbrook. It was dated May 20, 1841, and was based upon an entry by Mr. Holbrook at the land office in Chicago,-December 24, 1838. The other patent was to William B. Egan, and dated August 1, 1853.
