Following a jury trial in Madison County, the defendant, Chester O’Quinn (defendant), was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to an extended term of 70 years’ imprisonment. On appeal to this court, defendant argues that (1) he was denied the effective assistance of counsel and a speedy trial when defense counsel continued his trial for more than 3V2 years, (2) he was denied his right to a fair trial when the circuit court removed him from the courtroom, (3) the use of a special interrogatory to determine the victim’s age constituted a violation of the constitutional prohibition…
