This case involves a dispute between Zurich Insurance Company (Zurich), a primary insurer and defendant, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (Liberty Mutual), an excess insurer and one of the plaintiffs, over which insurance company is required to pay for a loss sustained by their insured and the other plaintiff, the Ritz-Carlton Water Tower hotel. Hotel guests lost valuable property they placed in a safe in their hotel room.
