Under the provisions of Va. Code § 8.01-15.1, an unnamed person has petitioned for an order to rescind or, in the alternative, modify the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) order of revocation of driving privileges dated February 23,2012. Va. Code § 8.01-15.1 allows an unidentified person to seek an order concerning the propriety of anonymous participation in the proceeding upon a showing that the need for anonymity outweighs the public’s interest in knowing the party’s identity and outweighs any prejudice to any other party.
