The various claims set forth in the complaint in this diversity action arose out of a prolonged and bitter dispute between the defendant, a member and sometimes chairman of the “Peer Review Committee” (the “Committee”) of the Dutchess County Medical Society (the “Society”), and the plaintiff, a member of that Society.
