Respondent J.ES. III appeals from an order of the circuit court of Champaign County entered June 12, 1989, in which it committed him to the Department of Corrections, Juvenile Division (DOC). Respondent maintains the circuit court’s order must be vacated, because the State failed to comply with the notice provisions of the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 (Act) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 37, par. 801—1 et seq.). Respondent also maintains section 5—33(2) of the Act (Ill. Rev.
