In July, 1891, the Vicksburg, Shreveport and Pacific Railroad Company applied for and obtained from the District Court, for the Parish of Richland, an injunction restraining Lem Scott, sheriff of the Parish of Richland, ex-ofiieio tax collector, who had made a demand upon it for the payment of five hundred and thirty-eight dollars and fourteen cents, a special tax, levied for the benefit of the New Orleans and Northwestern Railroad Company, from proceeding further in the collection of said tax, and in the same proceeding the plaintiff…
