Petitioner, until his termination in December 1987, was a parole officer of the State of New York working in New York City. On December 16, 1987, petitioner was convicted of three felony counts of sodomy in the second degree, three misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, and three *165misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor following a jury trial held in Queens County Supreme Court.
