MEMORANDUM OPINION

This matter is before the Court on PLAINTIFFS’ MOTION TO DISQUALIFY DEFENSE COUNSEL ON THE BASIS OF A CONFLICT OF INTEREST (Docket No. 209). For the reasons and to the extent set forth below, the motion is granted.
BACKGROUND
This action arises out of the death of John Charles Sanford on December 24, 2006. At the time of his death, Sanford was a patient in the Medical College of Virginia Main Hospital (the “Hospital”) who was recovering from surgery, which had been performed on December 20, 2006, in which his kidney was removed.
