Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of armed robbery, MCL 750.529; MSA 28.797, and was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment, with credit for 532 days served. Defendant appeals as of right.

The charge in the instant case arose out of the 1975 robbery of one Mitchell Plant, an employee of the Home Juice Company in Flint, Michigan. Defendant planned the robbery, supplied the weapon, and drove an active coparticipant to and from the scene of the offense.

Prior to trial, defendant filed a motion to suppress a transcript of testimony given by him at his previous first-degree murder…
