This case comes to us following a bench trial of Randall Koons’ claims for ERISA-protected severance benefits under 29 U.S.C. § 1132(a)(1)(B) and for interference with his ability to attain such benefits under 29 U.S.C. § 1140. The trial court 1 found for the defendants, the Aventis Integration Separation Plan for HMR Associates (the Plan) and Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
