The defendant, Carl Crow, together with Frank Cantilla and Frank Powell, were jointly indicted, but, on their election, separately tried for the murder of Louis Hoffman. Each was convicted of murder of the* first degree and as to each the jury fixed the death penalty, and from sentences imposed by the court each defendant lias brought an appeal. We will first consider the appeal of the defendant, Carl Crow.
