Pro se petitioner was convicted after a jury trial on February 18, 1997 in the New York Supreme Court, Kings County (Vaughan, J.), of Assault in the First Degree in violation of N.Y. Penal Law § 120.10[1], Robbery in the First Degree in violation of N.Y. Penal Law § 160.15[2], Attempted Robbery in the First Degree in violation of N.Y. Penal Law §§ 110.00/160.15[2], and Attempted Assault in the First Degree in violation of N.Y. Penal Law §§ 110.00/120.10[1].
