This action arises in the aftermath of the criminal conduct of Bernard Madoff, who in December 2008 admitted to operating the largest Ponzi scheme in United States history. The plaintiffs allege the loss of millions of dollars they invested in two Madoff “feeder funds,” hedge funds whose assets were invested almost exclusively with Madoff and his investment advisory firm.
