CALABRESI, Circuit Judge.

In August 2000, plaintiff-appellant Barbara Ehrlich filed a § 1983 action against defendant police officers Joel White and James Kenny in their individual capacities. She asserted that these officers, while acting in the scope of their employment with the Town of Glastonbury, violated her Fourth Amendment rights by unlawfully entering her home and using unreasonable force against her person. Her complaint also alleged a variety of state tort law claims against the individual defendants and the Town of Glastonbury, and sought compensatory and punitive damages. After…
