On October 7, 1988, a jury found appellant Stacey Lee Almond guilty of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor causing the death of another person, failure to render aid at an accident scene, and filing a false report. Almond was subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined $2,000.00.
