Following a bench trial, Toronto Brooks (defendant) was found guilty of theft and robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, pars. 16—1, 18—1). The trial court entered judgment on the robbery and sentenced defendant to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
