The prisoner was tried at a court of oyer and terminer, held for the county of Cayuga, and found guilty of the crime of murder; upon which verdict sentence of death was pronounced. In the course of the trials, preliminary and final, a multitude of exceptions were taken by the prisoner’s counsel, which, with the record of the conviction and sentence, have been brought into this court by writ of error.
