Following a jury trial, defendant, Camella Lewis, was found guilty of first-degree murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, eh. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)(2)) for the stabbing and subsequent death of her boyfriend, Louis Jones. Defendant was sentenced to a term of 24 years’ imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
