These are consolidated cases brought from the circuit court of Campbell county. They were instituted in that court by the defendants in error, Carr and McDonald, *242against the plaintiffs in error, Taylor and Adams, to contest an election for city offices of the city of La Follette, held on the 29th of March, 1910.

' The commissioners of election gave the certificate of election to Taylor as successful candidate for mayor of the city, and to Adams as successful candidate for aider-man of the Third ward. The unsuccessful candidates thereupon filed these suits, for the purpose of contesting the…
